Latest Upgrade

Hi john, because not easy to add image viewing software to current version of projectharambee, I ended up upgrading from 4.5 to 4.7.11. 4.7 is a major release that allows installation of decent image viewing modules, like Lightbox 2 http://drupal.org/project/lightbox2 So now the working installation is at http://projectharambee.org/help_african_women/ Server automatically forwards to there when user goes to projectharambee.org I moved all FILES and IMAGES folders to that directory.

-------------------------------
Viewing Images in Full-Size Mode

I put in code that allows you to enlarge each image and then go through whole gallery quickly.

Go to this gallery and click on any of the images http://projectharambee.org/help_african_women/image/tid/5#

The large version of the image should fill the screen. Click CLOSE in the lower right to return to the gallery. Hover your mouse on the right side of the image to see the NEXT link popup.

Info about this feature in MODULES/LIGHTBOX2 directory

Mass Uploading of Images (Image Publishing Module)

Click on IMAGE PUBLISHING under the Administer links (after you logged in)

 Click on Install Windows Web Publishing Wizard Support.

Download and run .reg file.

 Then in Windows XP simply browse to thumbnails of the pics you want to publish on website. In the left sidebar, under FILES & FOLDER TASKS, click on PUBLISH THIS FOLDER TO THE WEB. A wizard opens. Click NEXT. Select the images you want to upload. NEXT.  Pick ProjectHarambee.org as your destination. NEXT. Put in the same username and pwd you login into the website. NEXT. Choose the destination gallery from existing galleries or create a subgallery. (Caution required. Easy to dump a bunch of images in wrong gallery or too many images into a single gallery; moving them later is a pain because you’d have do each one by one. No mass moving of images from gallery to gallery available for your version of drupal.) NEXT. Choose size you want. Medium is usually sufficient. NEXT. Click Finish. XP should upload and create images.

 Dropping image inside pages (Using Image Filter):

First create an image node using CREATE CONTENT > IMAGE. Then find out what node number, which is in the URL:

example: http://projectharambee.org/help_african_women/node/376

If your image has a URL alias assigned, like this: http://projectharambee.org/help_african_women/funny

The go into that image's edit mode by clicking on the EDIT tab, and you will see the node number:

http://projectharambee.org/help_african_women/node/343/edit

Then in the page you want the image appear, type in following syntax exactly where you want the image appear:

  [image:node_id align=alignment hspace=n vspace=n border=n
     size=label width=n height=n nolink=(0|1)
     class=name style=style-data]

In its simplest form, "[image:node_id]", each image code will be
replaced by a thumbnail-sized image linked to the full-size image
node.  The other parameters, which are optional, give the user greater
control over the presentation of the thumbnail image.

Example: On this page: http://projectharambee.org/help_african_women/node/389

go into the edit mode and you will see the following code:

 [image:### align=right size=preview hspace=10 vspace=10]

First the node number for the image. Then I wanted to float to the right of the page, so I put in align=right. I didn't want the size to be thumbnail size, but larger, so chose label=preview. You can see the different LABELS your particular website has for images by going to ADMINISTER > SETTINGS > IMAGE. In the of ProjectHarambee.org, preview size is 500x500 max.

I also didn't want text to abut the image's borders, so I put in hspace=10 vspace=10 to put 10-pix margin on the horizontal and veritcal sides of the image.
