First the good news: Despite great challenges of covid, inflation, and national economic crises, our PLANT A SEED, GROW A DOC & PLANT A SEED, GROW A NURSE students have prevailed. We have several M.D. and B.S.N. graduates last year and this year, dedicated to serving their people.
This, from Maurine Keraa, who graduated last year and who has now completed an internship at Chuka Referral Hospital:
"I am gaining confidence in handling patients; my knowledge is expanding, along with my community skills. I am just so grateful! When I look at everythig, I just feel that God sent the angel of Project Harambee to my life. God bless you all. I will be paying back, serving my community."
And from Lawrence Owino:
"I made it to the pass list for our last examination. I am now done with undergraduate, waiting for internship. I cannot overemphasize how much your support has helped me throughout and all I can say is God bless you. I will strive to live the spiit of paying forward. May your basket never run dry."
You may remember this astonishing comment from Lawrence, back in 2016:
"Am also happy to share with you how i encountered a choking child in the countryside during the holiday and was able to help him--even though I am not yet half a doctor. I used my knowledge of Heimlich's maneuver which I learnt last semester. I hope i will learn more and put them to practise when need arises."
These marvelous triumphs are possible only through the compassionate generosity of our donors. It costs $6,000 for a year's medical school education in Kenya. The rewards are priceless. When I think of how many people will be helped during the professional lives of our graduates I am overcome with joy and gratitude. Please remember that we have ALTERNATIVE GIFT CARDS, $20 each, for these capacity-building programs. For holidays, birthdays, graduations, give a gift that keeps on giving indefinitely, a gift that changes the world. You can obtain cards by emailing us at keen@projectharambee.org
