I'll bet that many times you've casually claimed to be "starving to death."

Do you think you know what real hunger is like?

This month--October, 2008--I received a handwritten letter from Mrs. Eliud, teacher in Kaluoki.  She told me that every morning several children, after walking several miles to school, can be expected to faint from hunger.

Hard to believe?  It is for me, too.  Yet I was there.  I know these children and their lives.  I know the enormous difference that expanding our porridge program can make in time of drought.
