Boolbool is a small village a few miles from the center of Nairobi. It is near a major thoroughfare (Ngong Road) and is accessible by matatu, small public vans. Although its inhabitants live in rather primitive circumstances, there is not the crowding and filth seen in the major Nairobi slums. My friend Chris T, whose heart is as big as Alaska, met a teenage boy from Boolbool in the marketplace. His name was Daniel, and he had organized the adolescent boys and girls of Boolbool to create items for sale and earn a living.
