Our latest service trip included a visit to Ethiopia, where John and I taught at an innovative conference titled "Opening Minds" sponsored by Woldia University.  The conference was rewarding, but our visit to Lalibela was enchanting!  Read this to see more of the magic.

Project Harambee was honored to be invited to include a chapter in the newly published book  "Why Global Health Matters" edited by Dr. Chris Stout.  Our chapter describes the PLANT A SEED, GROW A DOC program and relates stories and successes of our graduates and students.

We arrived safe & sound, but of course weary from our long journey to Nairobi from Chicago.  But our suitcases are packed with donated meds (THANKS, McGleams!), shoes for children (THANKS, Katie Kralik!), brown dolls (THANKS Deltas & others, especially Kaye Lewellyn & SISTERS in Glendale AZ!), and much appreciated First Communion dresses (THANKS Mary Walsh & others!).

Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day...birthdays...weddings...it's always a good time to send a gift card to that special person who already has everything. 

You can donate, in their name, for a family in Africa to receive goats, pigs, chickens, solar lanterns, etc.  A very special gift can be made to the "Grow-a-Doc" program, which supports qualified students from under-priviledged communities in their medical training to help build the badly needed capacity for health care in their communities.
